You are messing up big time with marketing copy…

Marketing experts will all agree:

Bad copy yells, “Look what we built!”

Good copy whispers, “Look how this can change your life.”

Try this Good Copywriting Breakdown (in order) in your next brainstorming session:

  • Hook:  A compelling opener that grabs attention. Example: “You’re leaving money on the table…”
  • Social Proof:  Builds trust through testimonials, reviews, or user stats. Example: “Trusted by over 10,000 users.”
  • Big Idea:  A bold, clear concept or transformation that excites the reader. Example: “Revolutionize how you manage your business in 7 days.”
  • Benefits:  How the product improves the reader’s life, not just features. Example: “Get more done in less time without burnout.”
  • More Social Proof:  Reinforces trust and credibility. Example: “As seen in Forbes, TechCrunch, and Wired.”
  • Features:  Only now do you mention the specs/tools that make it work. Example: “Includes real-time collaboration and automated reports.”
  • Differentiation:  What makes your offer stand out from competitors. Example: “Unlike others, we don’t lock you into contracts.”
  • Risk Reduction:  Reduces hesitation or fear of buying. Example: “30-day money-back guarantee.”
  • More Social Proof:  Yet again, because trust is earned through repetition. Example: “Rated 4.9/5 by over 2,000 happy customers.”
  • Buy Now:  A clear call to action. Example: “Start your free trial today.”
  • Last Little Push:  A final nudge, often with urgency or a bonus. Example: “Only 3 spots left, don’t miss out!”
